Overview
Killketh was founded durring the late 17th century in early winter of the year 1586, by Zêyêbêm Conway. The establishment of Killketh was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Zêyêbêm Conway electing to pay people to resettle in Killketh.
Killketh was built using the conventions of Sylvin durring the late 17th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Killketh is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.
Killketh is buildings have been located at convienant points along the lake Killketh was built upon. Navigating the town is therefore a little chalanging as the distance between buildings verris greatly and the broad cobblestone streets flow where they are able to be made rather than folowing the most convienant paths. The city has a set of well fortified walls, with gatehouses, watch towers, battlments, and even a moat, which are fashioned from stone and timber. Killketh's walls are, howeaver, fashioned from stone and timber. While unorthadox, the design looks to be functional to a reasonable degree. With luck, the untested design will remain untested for years to come. Killketh's unusual though effective defenses has sufferd soem light damage, reducing its function a little in some spots, but could almsot certainly preform as expected... Though some of the worse spots could lead to the loss of defenders lives if attackers identified the weaknesses ahead of time.
A look around Killketh gives you an uneasy feeling. Everything is just a little too worn down, a little too dirty, or both. No one makes eye contact. Kids play quietly, but happily. Occasionally a passerby glances at you out of the corner of their eye, staring jsut long enough for it to be uncomfortable. People seem to be allowed to do as they please with little harmoney to anything. It feels less like a city, and more like a spot people just happened to place their homes.

Cultural Notes
Killketh is led by one or more incompetents. While they must have been very good at something to have acquired the position, they are fundamentally incapable of leading. Uncontrolled passions or lusts, commitment to a hopelessly impractical ideal, pigheaded obstinacy in the face of failure, a total lack of charisma or interpersonal skills, or profound laziness might all unfit them for their post.
Killketh's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by their massive, monolithic and 'blocky' appearance with a rigid geometric style. It was best known for its rough, unfinished surfaces, unusual shapes, heavy-looking materials, straight lines, and small windows. Modular elements were often used to form masses representing specific functional zones, grouped into a unified whole.
In Killketh yeast remains dormant.
The Mud Elemental, Large near Killketh are known to be almost tame, such that they can be put to domestic use.
Killketh's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in autumn and involves consuming a local narcotic to channel Chronomancy energies of tier 3 via proclamations.

History
In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century, Killketh was attacked by soldiers from another nation, waging a greater campaign. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Killketh lost 217 people, 104 livestock, and 76 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 208, when members of Killketh's militia enacted an operation to escort a particular irregulars group to a safe location. The operation was complicated by major logistical problems. The conflict ended with pitched battle between both forces, which ended in defeat for Killketh's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Killketh's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
